‘Murica: Corn dogs, amazing burgers, beautiful views, and much more.

Our summer vacation this year was a 2½ week trip to the states – specifically San Francisco where my parents moved to last year. Kim had been there before, as a teenager, so he could recognize surprisingly much in the area (I was impressed – I can barely remember the vacations my family took me on as a child). We rented a car for a week, so we could take trip to South Lake Tahoe. I don’t think I have…

This time last year: Honeymoon!

This time last year: Honeymoon!

At the end of June/start July, Kim and I went on our honeymoon. We took a roadtrip to Sweden – first stop was Norrköbing. Generally speaking, Norrköbing is a pretty boring city. The only reason we were there was to go to the Bråvalla Festival, which is close to the city. We had a day ticket so we could go see Sabaton, which is an amazing, Swedish, Power/heavy metal band. We spent most of the day at the festival site,…

KIKO haul from Italy!

KIKO haul from Italy!

Last weekend I went to Bergamo, Italy, which is a city about an hour from Milan. The trip was paid by my work, since it was a social bonding type deal, where we would get to know each other better – I figured, why not tag along (if nothing else I could see some pretty things, and buy some new makeup, since I knew KIKO is from Italy). I only brought carry on baggage, so I couldn’t shop that much…

This time last year: Easter at the summer house

This time last year: Easter at the summer house

Once again we spent Easter in my parents summer house. It’s always nice to go there – lots of fresh air and always a great view. It was a bit chilly this time, but thankfully we had a wood stove in the house to help us keep warm. We spend the time relaxing, talking, and just enjoying not having to go to work 🙂 Just a short post to appreciate the small pleasures, like having an Easter holiday and enjoying…

Catching up 2014: Visiting friends in Vienna, cutting my hair, getting engaged and much more!

Hey guys. This post is meant to try and catch up the events of 2014, as I am quite behind on these blog posts 🙂 . So I’ll basically take you through the most important events of the year, and throw in some random pictures of myself with hair and/or makeup that I’m proud of. In the picture to the left, I’m loving the dutch braid wrapping around my head and going down my shoulder. The eye makeup I’m pretty…

2013 week 33: Last week of summer school :(

2013 week 33: Last week of summer school :(

A frog from a Grimm fairy tale, in Marburg The last week of summer school is already here! Crazy. We were so busy the last week because we had to prepare a presentation about our country’s energy policies and strategies on top of classes and field trips. Luckily we had Monday off to catch up on sleep and do research for the presentation. We had to give the presentation on Thursday, but both Tuesday and Wednesday were filled with activities,…

2013 Week 32 Sunday: Football and cars

2013 Week 32 Sunday: Football and cars

The Allianz Arena Last day of our field trip!  And its another beautiful day. This week had been so long, with almost every single waking moment occupied by activities, but now it’s almost time to get back to the “normal” rhythm of summer school. First stop of the day was the Allianz Arena, which is a huge football stadium north of Munich. We got a guided tour where we learned about the fire safety measures and the structures. After the…

2013 Week 32 Saturday:

Beer stein deposit Saturday morning we got a tour guide around Munich where we saw a lot of the historic places. We also saw a Hofbräuhaus, which is a place where people goes to get some beer. All the regular guests got their own table and had the possibility of making a costum sign where they could write anything they wanted. Some of the regulars had a private beer stein locked in the Bräuhaus, but there were no more…

2013 Week 32 Friday: Bricks and food!

Another day seeing a lot of stuff. We got a tour around the factory where we saw the ovens and all the machines they used to make the bricks, we also got a demonstration of how the bricks were assembled and Molly even got to try…

2013 Week 32 Thursday: Ski-jump and hydropower

2013 Week 32 Thursday: Ski-jump and hydropower

Mid-jump (totally looks like I instagrammed this photo, but it really is the original – crazyness) We started our day by checking out from our hotel in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. From there our bus headed for the local ski-jump stadium where people from all over the world can buy time for practicing their jumping.  Here is one of the places where the “january 1st” ski-jumping takes place (I believe it is 3 maybe 4 places they film from). It was amazing watching…
